Leave It To Beaver - Beaver and Gilbert go for a car ride

No copyright intended When Beaver's parents go away for the day, Beaver and Gilbert decide to pretend to be parents and take their children for a car ride. But when Beaver 'stops' the car, the brake slips which makes the car roll into the middle of the street.
I hope they will put this on Disney+ someday.
My school used this song for our play and I kid you not they chose a actual ugly kid for the ugly bug
The child in this video is Jerry Mathers' brother, Jimmy Mathers.

Omg thank you so much for bringing back one of my favourite sing along childhood songs more than 3 decades back!🥲🥲

The Ugly bugs Ball Black Fuzzy caterpillar
I can't believe this of all things served as inspiration for Ren and Stimpy
Who hooo!!! ❤🎉
Who’s watching in 2024? ‘Cause I sure am.
Anybody else get a Land of the Lost theme song vibe off this tune?
No but it reminds me of some other song, the music that is, but I can't place it. I'm almost sure it was taken from another song.....
A Bug's Life before it was cool
I haven't watched this film in around 30 years. And now, my youngest son is singing this at his assembly 🥹❤

All bugs are beautiful, no matter if they look scary, bloodthirsty or scary, there’s still beauty and entertainment behind these amazing creatures
This was at a time when Disney was good
All Irish & Scottish songs, with their beautiful melodies and catchy rhythms, are such an irresistible invitation to dance.
This song makes me cry, so sweet.
Song starts 0:40
I miss the old days. This was one of my all time favorite movies. The theme song is so much a part of my childhood. My nephew in law gave me his Disney+ password the other day, and i almost cried when this movie popped up. Although i don't care for the "The Apple Dumpling Gang rides again".
My lyfi belongsty Jesus
It’s Sam the Snowman!
Strangely reminds me of Song of the South and Uncle Remus
The musical score for Summer Magic was composed by Buddy Baker, while Joseph S. Dubin performed the orchestration. The song "Ugly Bug Ball" was sung by Burl Ives and the Rhythmaires.

I grew up on this. My sister would sing this to me every night
I only saw this movie once when I was in preschool, it completely disappeared from my subconscious for 21 years, now it's back.
If only Disney could make more live action movies nowadays like these ones. Original and classics.
yep
Thie is film that beio
My late grandmother loved Burl Ives. She loved the song The was and old lady who swallowed a fly. It would always be playing on her radio in her living room in her bungalow. Happy days. Wish she was still here. I loved her.
In all seriousness that garden is way too infested
Just be happy for the biodiversity. It is a rich and well balanced ecosystem. :)
All the other comments here are sentimental and glowing about good memories of this song…whereas my reaction is that this is just as cheesy and cringeworthy as I thought it was when I saw this film in the early ‘60s. I was taken to see “Summer Magic” with two siblings and some cousins, and none of us liked it.

Stinky Whizzleteats, the singing character in Ren and Stimpy, was based off of Burl Ives. Some of the dialogue used in 'Happy, Happy, Joy ,Joy' was from this film and from 'The Big Country.'

C'mon! Let's crawl... (Gotta crawl, gotta crawl) To the Ugly Bug Ball! (To the Ball, to the Ball) And a happy time we'll have there... One and all At the Ugly Bug Ball!

Ooh, I like this song and this movie. I like the sort of Western theme and the Deschutes area filming. I've been at this area last summer. It's a very pretty-looking area.
Ahhh nostalgia

I hear Sam the Snowman singing.
"Summer Magic" was the third of four Walt Disney films starring Hayley Mills that had songs written by the Sherman Brothers. And with the music in it being done by Buddy Baker, that means he and the Sherman Brothers got to work together again 3 years again in the Winnie the Pooh featurettes, starting with "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree". Plus, the Sherman Brothers had started writing the Winnie the Pooh Theme Song in 1963, and that same year was when "Summer Magic" was released, along with "The Sword in the Stone". And that film was the first Walt Disney Animated one that the Sherman Brothers wrote songs for, and was released a few months later that year on Christmas Day.
Fun fact about this film, it was released on my birthday! Both me and Ringo Starr of the Beatles were born on July 7. He was born in 1940, so it was his 23rd birthday when "Summer Magic" was released. And as my birth year was on that same day in 1998, that means I was born exactly five years after this film had its 30th anniversary in 1993.
